Diogo Pereira,

The International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS) is proud to announce the election of Voruganti Srinivas, Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) of the Republic of India, as its next President for the term 2025–2028.

Elected by the General Assembly with 61.70% of the vote in a democratic process involving IIAS members worldwide, Shri Srinivas’s election reflects the Institute’s commitment to transparent and participatory governance. His presidency promises to strengthen IIAS's global mission to improve public governance through research, education, and practice.

Mr. Srinivas brings to the role a distinguished career in public administration, both in India and internationally. He currently serves as Secretary to the Government of India in the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances and the Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare. Since 2018, he has represented India on the IIAS Council of Administration.

His extensive public service includes leadership roles such as Director General of the National Centre for Good Governance and the National Archives of India, as well as senior positions in the Ministry of Finance, Health, Science & Technology, and the International Monetary Fund (IMF). He also served as India’s nominee to the International Cotton Advisory Committee and held several key roles in the Government of the Indian state of Rajasthan.

He also authored over 250 papers and three major books, including The March to New India: Governance Transformed (2014–2019). His contributions to governance and policy have been recognized with several national honors, including the Rajbhasha Kirti Puraskar (2024), the Digital India Award (2020), and the AIIMS Leadership Excellence Award (2017).

Under his leadership, DARPG and IIAS released a landmark publication, Viksit Bharat@2047: Governance Transformed, during the IIAS-DARPG India Conference 2025, in February 2025.
